I am back from a wonderful 3 (that turned into 4) Disney vacation. It was way too much fun and I can’t wait to do that again next year! We, unanimously, decided to make Disneyland part of our summer tradition. The 4 of us were able to spend some quality time together and just enjoy each other’s company. The kids were so great, so well behaved (all things considered) and so EXCITED to be there. Ethan enjoyed watching Indi (Indiana Jones) perform on adventure land’s “streets”, and was over the moon to see Darth Vader and Darth Maul in person!!!! I totally re-lived childhood through his eyes on this vacation!
Isabeli enjoyed ALL the parades! She smiled and clapped and said hi to all the characters that passed by. She did not, however, want to get too close to them. So getting pictures with them was not an easy task. *sigh!*
It was so HOT there and it seemed like EVERYONE in the world decided to make it to Disneyland this past weekend! Unreal! At 8 am there was already a line by the entrance of the park… 8 AM!!!!!!! The sun wasn’t even up yet!! Well… part of the fun, I guess!
I will have pictures to share soon! I wanted to make a quick post and tell you I am back, but will be taking a couple of weeks off for personal reasons. I will be back in the office september 1st. If you need to contact me during this time, please e-mail me at info@amandaelkinsphotography.com.
Thank you!

I have been trying to get to this session for a long time. Their kids were so fun and funny! I enjoyed capturing them being themselves and enjoying eachother’s company. There are a LOT of amazing shots for you guys. It will be hard picking the favorite family photo! Heck, I had I hard time chosing which to post here!!!

I fell in love with this photo below. Everything about it! I decided to throw an urban process to it and now it’s one of my absolute favorite images to date. Simple but just PERFECT!

Miss pretty here had the most beautiful and captivating smile. One of the sweetest girls I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

Thank you so much for having me over for this super fun shoot!

My baby girl turns 2 today! It really didn’t hit me until right now, as I am posting this. She is no longer a baby!!! She is a super busy toddler, who thinks she is at least another 15 years older.
There are so many things that could be said about our”Bela Cinderela”. How she makes our day with her sweet hugs and beijos. How she loves her brother and wants to do everything just-like-he-does. How she makes us laugh. How ADORABLE her mispronunciations are… I could go on and on! We do however, have a shoe shopping day to attend to, so I must be brief! Bela is addicted to shoes (yup, at age 2!), so we are going to have some fun, girly time together!
Bela first started modeling for Liliputians last year. I will post more images from our recent shoot for Liliputians later and include more images from last year’s shoot in Brazil. For now, check out our “baby” girl’s BIG changes!

Remember Heather? This is the second time we work together. Back in february I shot her model portfolio and despite the cold wind and all, the images turned out great! Well, it’s summer now and we needed a few totally diferent images from last time. Here a couple of my favorite images from last shoot.

Isn’t she beautiful? I love it when I am able to shoot models. Reminds me of my modeling days!
It was hard to pick a few of my favorite to post from this beach session. There are a lot of great ones!

She is a sweetheart and I wish her the best of luck in her career. She has just signed up to be part of the america’s next top model show with Tyra Banks. I am crossing my fingers she will be one of their picks!

Ok. I can finally focus on my teen/young adults division now. There is always so much going on and I am never able to fully concentrate on that. Well… it’s time!
If you know teens/young adults who LOVE having their photographs taken and would be interested in doing a photoshoot with me, please contact me asap with a snapshot of the candidate and their contact info. I am interested in finding out the things they like, sports they practice, places that are special to them and so we can create a photoshoot made for THEM, so please include a short paragraph about your teen. I don’t have a lot of spots available and my schedule for those sessions is very limited.
I know girls are more likely to respond to a model search, as they love to pose and look GORGEOUS in front of a camera. But guys, you should reconsider! I PROMISE you a fun shoot geared towards things that interest you. If you are a skateboarder, for example, I want to capture you doing all those awesome stunts, flying up in the air and make sure you look your absolute best while doing that. Of course a few close ups won’t hurt a bit!
Each model will have their one-on-one time with me and their own session date, a gallery with their best images on my new teen/young adult website, and 10 - 5×7 images from the shoot and 20% off print prices.

Thanks! Look forward to meet you!

Holy mother of thickness! How G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S is this??? I am speachless and still have a silly grin on my face since I opened the door and received a HUGE box from FEDEX. I feel like a kid at Disneyland right now!

Truly a master piece. And if you must see it in person, you are sure welcome to stop by!
I promise you will want one too!
I took some pictures of bela back in june and knew I wanted to do something special with this particular one (on the canvas). It’s so california! So now I have this work of art at a 20×30 size on my wall! Simply stunning!!! Soon there will be one of my boy too…

I want my children to have memorable images of them being kids. Enjoying eachother. All their beautiful expressions. Thanks to my wonderful parents, I have many of those. I love being able to see myself back then and seeing how my kids *kind* of resemble me sometimes. I want them, as parents, to look at their pictures and be able to tell their kids “this is me…then”.
This session was not planned. At all! Isabeli and I were having breakfast one morning and I sat her on top of the table to eat with me. She was excited because she really hates sitting in her high chair. Since she was being so good I decided to grab my camera and take a few shots of her eating bagels with cream cheese. Not a good look I tell ya. But she did look pretty good once she had her face wiped clean. HA!
She gave me all sorts of looks. She sang, she talked, she even smiled!!! Wow! I must make something good of these images!!! LOL
So, here is my *FUTURE HOLLYWOOD ACTRESS*.

I was also glad Ethan decided to join the fun and let me shoot him too!

Doesn’t he look like a pre-teen in these pictures?? John and I were totally in shock when we saw those. Our baby is a *REAL BOY* now!
The following ones though take my breath away! I wish I had the time to plan these better, but still, I am glad I was able to capture them. These were literaly done within a few minutes. No time for ANYTHING!

I just sent my parents this series and they are over the moon with them! My dad loves photographs. He is in the process of scanning all of our film photos and organizing them in the computer. I am so happy for the memories he captured of my sisters and I. I am sure my babies will enjoy having these once they are older too.

Aww!! Bela started modeling for Beary Basics when she was about 9 months. This particular shoot was on the day before I left to Brazil for 2 months and everything was crazy, but the results were so great! Both Stephanie and I were very pleased and so the pictures keep showing up on ads even a year later! I came across Dimples and Dandelions while reading Tot Trends Weekly Magazine. I was excited to see Bela in their Beary Basics page.
I had to share!

I took the photos of Bela (at 9 months) and the adorable 4 year old, Sarah.
Stay tuned for Beary Basics’ new designs for fall 2008!
