It’s so funny to watch Bela and her little friend, Clara, trying to communicate. They somehow manage to understand eachother, even though they speak 2 different languages. Clara is my sister’s husband’s niece. They are about 2 months apart in age. Bela being the youngest.
Clara and her family came over one day for a barbecue and her mommy asked me to take a few pictures of her. Here are a few of them.

We will be enjoying the beach all day today! We have a little different way of celebrating x-mas here. Kids are excited and ready to hit the road, literaly, as we are about 2 *walking* minutes away from the water! I will post a few images from our day later on. I hope everyone has a beautiful day enjoying the people and things you love. Merry Christmas 2008!!

I have been a fan of this model for quite some time. Camilla Buarque performance during this shoot really impressed me! We connected well and it showed in her images. She is part of MEGA models Alagoas and I really wish her a bright and prosperous future.
The dresses were provided by Maison M. aka Martha Medeiros. Martha Medeiros’ collection is composed of evening dresses and accessories all made of refined traditional hand-stitched lace from Alagoas.
One of the dresses used by Camilla for this shoot was made for the famous Brazilian singer, also known as the queen of carnival, Daniela Mercury (as you can see in this image). The singer is a fan and personal friend of the designer and is often seen wearing Martha’s stunning Lace dresses. The stylist is also providing designs for the mean Penelope (Amanda Setton) of Gossip Girls.

I was invited by the owner of MEGA models Alagoas (website under construction), Fellipe Jhonatas, to work with him on a summer editorial for a couple of major local stores. They offer the most amazing bathing suits EVER! Brands such as internationally known Rosa Cha. I wanted to keep all of the pieces I shot and all the others hanging in the store!!!

Those are just a few of my favorite images from the shoots. There are so many great shots. Location was TDF and the models did a great job! So happy with the results!

We made it safe and sound to Brazil, but arrived with no lugages whatsoever. It is simply amazing, to say the least, how airline companies manage to “misplace” luggages. We had NOTHING for 2 days and I cannot describe how frustrating that is!! I am lucky to have sisters who wear my size and that my kids don’t mind wearing underwear all day long! We just stayed in and chilled at the house until we finally got our things back. Bela and Ethan have a huge smile on their faces and think everything is “just great!!!”.
Here is a picture from today at the beach. They are still working on their Brazilian tan.Hahaha! By the time we are ready to go home, they will be a few shades darker.

I am leaving to Brazil today and will only be back in the beginning of the new year. I will still have access to e-mail and will probably make a post or 2 about my work and vacation there. So if you need to contact me, please use the info@amandaelkinsphotography.com e-mail address.
Here are a couple of photos that my friend Rachel Clare took of me on our latest get together.

Having my son model for me is such a treat. I had to share a few! I was not really allowed more than 15 minutes for these, so I had to pick ONE location I really loved! Once there, as long as I was within my 15 minutes, he let me go for it. He played along and gave me all the faces that best describe him and his “cool dude” personality. I had fun! We both did!
